Pittston Health Insurance

Healthcare coverage is a hot button topic these days, but we here at Joyce, Jackman & Bell Insurors know this one simple truth: Everyone should have access to affordable Health Insurance.

As an independent insurance agency in Northeast Pennsylvania, we offer residents of Pittston, Olyphant, Scranton and Dickson City access to a wide array of plans from numerous Health Care Insurance companies. And now, thanks to the Affordable Care Act (ACA), you cannot be denied insurance coverage due to a preexisting condition. The ACA has also put an end to lifetime coverage limits and fully covers the cost of any recommended preventative care services.

10 Essential Benefits

In compliance with the ACA, all Healthcare Insurance plans offered by our insurance professionals will feature the following 10 Essential Health Benefits:

  1. Coverage for emergency room visits
  2. Substance abuse and mental health coverage
  3. Outpatient treatment and care
  4. Before and after childbirth care
  5. Prescription drug coverage
  1. Lab tests
  2. Inpatient treatment and care
  3. Pediatric care for children, including dental and vision

Pittston Health Care Insurance Coverage Options

Before you purchase Health Insurance it is important to understand what coverage options are available to you and how, or if, they fit your needs. Any one of the dedicated insurance agents at Joyce, Jackman & Bell Insurors can help you choose the right plan for you.

Here are four of the most common plan types:

  1. Traditional Plan
Also known as indemnity plan, these plan give you the most freedom for care; you can choose to receive treatment from any provider. The catch however is that you must pay up front for any services provided and are then reimbursed by your plan provider, although not at 100% of the out of pocket costs.
  2. HMO (Health Maintenance Organization) & PPO (Preferred Provider Organization)
These two Healthcare Insurance types features a network of participating healthcare providers. You must typically get treatment within the network to avoid paying high out of pocket costs.
  3. Consumer Directed Health Plans
This is used in conjunction with a PPO, combining a high deductible health plan with a Healthcare Savings Account (HSA). An HAS is a tax-free account set up to pay for qualified medical expenses.
  4. Specified Disease Plan
Also known as a Dread Disease Plan, this can be purchased in addition to your primary medical plan. It is coverage for a specific disease (i.e. cancer or heart disease). This plan does not meet ACA minimum coverage requirements.
