Maybe you've been there before?
Listening to the shrieking of brakes and the squeal of tires as you desperately try to avoid an accident. Unfortunately, not all accidents are avoidable, and if you don't have the right Auto Insurance coverage you may be paying out more than necessary to get back on the road.
Here at Joyce, Jackman & Bell Insurors, we are here to protect all of our Pittston drivers. Invest in the right coverage now and save money later.
The #1 Reason To Purchase Car Insurance: It's The Law
To legally drive in the state of Pennsylvania you must purchase and maintain insurance for any vehicle you intend to operate. We call this "financial responsibility," and failure to maintain the state coverage minimums can result in stiff penalties for local drivers:
- A minimum $300 fine for driving uninsured
- 3-month suspension of your driver's license plus restoration fees
- 3-month suspension of your vehicle registration plus restoration fees
- Vehicle impoundment
Pennsylvania Auto Insurance Regulations
Every policy we offer meets the following minimum coverage requirements:
Property Damage Liability
In the event of an accident this coverage will pay for the damage you cause to another person's property.
Minimum Limit of $5,000
Bodily Injury Liability
If you injure someone in an accident, this coverage will pay for the medical and rehabilitation expenses of the injured party.
Minimum limit of $15,000 for injuries to a single individual; $30,000 total per accident
This will pay for the medical bills of anyone covered by your policy, regardless of fault.
Minimum limit of $5,000 - Higher limits are available
Limited or Full Tort
"Tort" is a civil wrong that can be redressed by awarding damages. So far as Car Insurance is concerned, you have the option of limited or full tort. Limited tort allows you to recover all out-of-pocket damages from the negligent party, but you may not be able to recover other damages, like payment for pain and suffering. With full tort you are unrestricted in your right to bring suit against the negligence on behalf of another party.
We here at Joyce, Jackman & Bell Insurors also offer Uninsured Motorist (UM) and Underinsured Motorist (UIM) protection. This coverage applies to you and your family in the event that you are involved in an accident where an UM or UIM is at-fault.
You may also purchase Collision and/or Comprehensive Coverage. All banks require collision coverage as a condition of financing your vehicle. Our Collision will pay for the repairs to any covered vehicle resulting from an accident.
Comprehensive covers losses due to theft, fire, flood or vandalism.
Typical Car Insurance policies protect you from the big costs of an accident, but we know that it is the little costs that add up too, which is why we offer these extras, and more to all of our Pittston customers:
Buying a new car is a big investment and often times requires an auto loan. Unfortunately, cars tend to depreciate at a faster rate than we can pay off what we owe. Gap Insurance will pay for the difference between what your insurance company values your totaled vehicle at and what you owe the bank.
If you are involved in an accident that is covered by a comprehensive or collision loss then we will reimburse you up to the limit of your policy for the cost of renting a replacement vehicle.
Should your covered vehicle become disabled we will pay for the costs of towing and labor to your favorite mechanic or auto-body specialist.
